Ma qual è il significato del testo di Master of Puppets? Il gruppo capitanato da James Hetfiled e Lars Ulrich non ha mai fatto chiarezza in merito, ma secondo l’opinione comune parla di abuso di droghe come eroina e cocaina. Altri, invece, sostengono che contenga riferimenti politici o addirittura letterari, con riferimenti ad Howard Phillips Lovecraft, scrittore e poeta che ha ispirato buona parte dei primi testi della band statunitense.
Come suonare Master of Puppets
Ma come fare per suonare Master of Puppets? Come spiegato da suonarechitarra.com, si tratta di un brano particolarmente difficile da eseguire. “Merito” di James Hetfiled, chitarrista noto per la sua rapidità con la mano destra. Difficili anche gli assoli di Kirk Hammet:
La difficoltà è molto alta. Non è adatta ad un chitarrista che ha cominciato da poco. Per questo, dato che ho avuto un paio di ore per impararla al meglio, per semplicità nel fare la demo dei pezzi che ho spiegato nel tutorial ho utilizzato una plettrata alternata, ma se vogliamo essere precisi e farla come l’originale dovresti fare quasi tutte le plettrate verso il basso.
